Ever since I was a little kid I have always been surrounded by music. My dad would always burn CDs of the greatest 80s bands and the classic rock and roll bands like Led Zeppelin. If it wasn’t for my parents bringing me to concerts I wouldn’t have been so interested in the music scene. It wasn’t until middle school when I started exploring different genres and discovering smaller bands. Ever since that my life has constantly revolved around music and I do not see it stopping anytime soon. As for photography I was very unfamiliar with the subject; it was about 2 years ago when I became really intrigued by it. I wanted to do something new and take a chance because it makes life more exciting.  Capturing the perfect moment at shows is exhilarating because that image has basically summed up the energy of the show. Being able to let yourself go and forget about the world at concerts is a beautiful thing because the feeling is like no other. Creating this music publication with my sister is something I have been eager to do for awhile now, it gives me a great platform to express my love for music and share ideas. I am thrilled to see the journey ahead for Lucid Dreams Mag and adventures a long with it!

Music has always been a huge part of my life. I grew up with my brother and sister who are 15 years older than me, so from a young age I was introduced to all genres and taken to a plethora of concerts. Some of my favorite memories with my siblings are ones when we would go on car rides and blast everything from Yellowcard to 50 Cent. Without that exposure to the world of music at such a young age, I don’t think it would be such a large part of my life as it is now. As I grew up I ventured into other genres and became the friend that knew all of the songs months before they played on the radio. Once I got to high school I started going to more shows on my own, discovering more underground bands, and writing a lot more. My passion for music led me to my decision of attending Emerson College, starting in the spring where I will be studying music journalism. I am more than happy to write for Lucid Dreams Mag and share the same love for music with Kayla, Corynne, and so many others. Sharing my discoveries and thoughts with all of you is something that I’m very excited to do. I’ve always wanted to help someone discover their favorite band or introduce a friend to a song for the first time and it makes everything in their life makes sense; I truly think there is a magic in music that brings people together in a way that no other media does.

Music has always played an important role in my life: from school performances, to watching my favorite artists live, music will always be a part of me. Combine a love for music with a love for photography and you’ll have a perfect match. I love concert photography because it allows you to see the show in a completely different perspective; the fans’ emotional state, the bands’ reactions and passion for doing what they love, and the best part is that you are able to capture it all through a lens.

Hello readers and viewers! I’m Kaycie, a twenty-year-old photographer and writer from Seattle, WA. While I have always had a deep love and admiration for photography, I didn’t start taking serious photos until about a year ago, when I shot my first concert. I fell in love with live music photography and knew this was what I wanted to be doing. Since then I have had the privilege of shooting artists like Coasts, Låpsley, Troye Sivan, and Years & Years. While I’m based in Seattle, you can often find me at scattered shows across the West Coast. I like to combine my passions for music and photography with my passion for traveling. Shows you might find me at include Panic! At The Disco, The 1975, Børns, Catfish and the Bottlemen, and many more in between. I can’t wait to share my work with you!

Hello my name is Jada Moore and I’m a music writer for a few magazines / small collectives. I currently reside in Northern VA, (just outside of DC) and I plan on attending college in NY. I have a twin sister named Jayla, who is also my best friend and muse. I love attending concerts, especially those of indie bands / musicians, but I also love every time I see my favorite band (since I was 12), The 1975. I love talking to my online friends from all over the world, especially because we’ve been brought together by our mutual interests in art and music. Reading and writing has always been a favorite pastime of mine, and music has always been apart of my life so tying these all together has been a really awesome experience for me! One day, I hope to have the opportunity to travel the world and attend as many music festivals as I possibly can before I venture into a future profession in helping others.

I find it fascinating that such a subjective and expansive art form is capable of bringing a variety of people together, to ultimately enjoy the craft of music. I have acquired an assorted taste in music, mostly due to the exposure to multiple artists and genres from my mother and close acquaintances. The musicians I hold in adoration can range anywhere from Amy Winehouse, Blonde, No Doubt, The Strokes, and even Shakira. It wasn’t until last year that I began frequently attending concerts, and gradually became highly interested in contributing more to the atmosphere live shows provide. I am appreciative of the opportunity to explore and develop my abilities regarding photography, as I believe it is vital to preserve such fleeting moments between the artists and audience.
